"We discover in ourselves what others hide from us and we recognize in others what we hide from ourselves."
Many times, I have read these words from a great 18th century French writer and they saturated my spirit. I spent, well wasted, so much time wearing a "spiritual mask".... putting up a front, basically pretending. I was hiding so much from myself and from others.
My heart was bound up and I was not free. God has now shown me exquisite freedom.
Recently I was having a conversation with a loved one about a "blankness" that used to be evident in my eyes. Removing this mask fully put a light into my eyes that only God could deposit.
I am now free to be transparent with my words, with my heart and my love! I am no longer who I once was 5, 10, 15 and 20 years ago.

Free! So free! Freedom. A word that means quite a bit more to us now.
