2 BY 4
As I have aged gracefully, I have discovered that taking things in stride, slowly, to enjoy each task is so beneficial to me.
I have developed a clever way to fold the important things into my day. Simply put, I take 4 categories each day, and 2 tasks for each category daily.
I have been doing this for some time now and it uplifts God, my spirit, my day, my home and others!
2 BY 4. TWO BY FOUR.
Here goes, in this priority order...
1.) Do 2 things for God
Such as: Praise, sing, memorize a verse, read your Bible, pray to Him. This can be in your car, in the shower, on a walk, on your couch, at your desk, on your lunchbreak, Be creative, but FIT HIM IN.
2.) Do 2 things for others
Such as: Write an encouraging note, mail it or put it on a door or car, send an encouraging text, give a hug, be a listener, let someone vent-you may be their only outlet, make a call to someone you love, this call all be to a friend, family member, neighbor, stranger, grocery clerk. Again, be creative, BUT FIT OTHERS IN. Take the time.
3.) Do 2 things for your space, area, office
Such as: Clean a drawer, organize a cupboard, clean a counter, scrub your shower while you take a shower, declutter one counter, make your bed in morning, wash your car, do a load of laundry. Be clever in your organization, BUT MAKE IT YOUR AREA, YOUR SPACE.
4.) 2 things for yourself
Such as: take a bubble bath, take a nap, watch a sunset with a cup of tea, journal, make your favorite meal, sit in the morning sunshine, give yourself a facial, put lotion on, read a favorite magazine or book, have a solo movie night with popcorn and soda. Be creative, BUT DO FOR YOU, just you.
When you begin doing 2 BY 4's daily, it will become a very lovely habit in your life. You will begin to see that everyday, you are prioritizing God, others, your spaces and yourself and it is an edifying thing, lowering your stress cortisol and
giving you precious peace!
giving you precious peace!
