Guard Your Heart.

“Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.” ~Proverbs 4:23-27

It takes us nearly an entire lifetime to learn to guard our hearts. Constantly stumbling, repeating the same mistakes, trusting others with our hearts, trying to avoid brokenness and hurt. 

If only we knew, all along God's wisdom and ways are our entire shield of protection. Will we get hurt? Yes. Will we experience others that do not care about our heart? Yes. The good thing is if we learn this lesson early, in these scriptures, we have an early out! We can turn the table.

Evil does exist. The devil USES others to harm, hurt, deceive, and distract.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and deliberately guard your heart as if your life depends on it. Because it does!
